Heckington Man Jailed for 10 Years for Child Rape

Local News

A 40-year-old man, Terry Smith, from Heckington, not far from Sleaford, has been given a 10-year prison term subsequent to his conviction for child rape involving a victim aged under 13. The case came to Lincoln Crown Court, with the transgressions having taken place in the Lincoln area within the period between 2019 and 2021. Mhairi Boulton from Lincolnshire Police confirmed Smith’s reprehensible actions, defining them as abhorrent crimes that fail to align with the values of our community and broader society. She emphasised that no child should bear the brunt of such a horrific experience. Boulton also expressed appreciation towards the victim as well as their family for their courage and endurance endured during this investigative process. In addition to his prison sentence, Smith will also feature on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
