Local News

Jonathan Gjoshe, who plays football for Scunthorpe United, was among the victims of a distressing stabbing incident over the weekend aboard a London-bound train. The incident, which took place on a Saturday evening, resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for Gjoshe, namely a slash across the bicep. His injuries necessitated hospital treatment and he is presently recuperating following surgery. The attack, which occurred on an LNER service making its way from Doncaster to London, led to injuries for a total of 11 people. Among the injured was a member of the train staff who continues to be in a critical yet stable condition.

Scunthorpe United, which plays in the National League, has voiced its support for Gjoshe. The team’s manager, Andy Butler, expressed profound shock at the incident, describing it as ‘a dreadful occurrence’. He also articulated the club’s dedication towards contributing to Gjoshe’s recovery. The team also extended its deepest sympathies and wishes for a speedy recovery not only to Jonathan, but to all victims of this horrible attack.
