Sleaford Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Heinous Crimes
Local News

A man from Sleaford, James Chater, 35, has been sentenced to a 12-year prison term for rape. The conviction took place at Lincoln Crown Court. Besides the rape, Chater also pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment and strangulation. Although infamously from the Sleaford area, Chater does not have a permanent address. Upon being found guilty, he has been listed on the sex offenders register and handed a sexual harm prevention order. Trainee Detective Constable Kieron Stewart characterised Chater’s acts as deplorable, shining a light on his absence of empathy and disregard for his victim.
