Boston Man Jailed for Assaulting Father in Drug-Fuelled Incident

Title: Boston Resident Incarcerated for Committing an Assault in Drug-Related Incident

Content:
Arnas Savickas, a resident of Boston, has been handed a prison sentence of 17 months following a violent confrontation with his father. The event took place on March 7 when Savickas, who is 31 years old, encountered difficulties trying to enter his parent’s home at Joy Paine Close. It was conveyed to Lincoln Crown Court that his father suspected Savickas to be under the influence of drugs. Consequently, Savickas physically assaulted his father by forcefully grabbing his throat, leading to breathing struggles. The prosecutor, Phil Howes, further described that Savickas proceeded to knock his father to the floor, then kicked him.

The distressing scenario ceased when a local neighbour came to the aid of Savickas’ father after hearing his calls for assistance. Savickas took this opportunity to escape, only to be discovered two days later on Ingelow Avenue behaving ominously with a knife in his possession. After he approached a police officer carrying scissors, he was apprehended. Savickas, being homeless, confessed to the charges labelled against him, including assault committed on March 7, blade-carrying, and another instance of carrying a knife that occurred at Boston’s Burger King in October 2024.

Savickas’ defence attorney, Steven Taylor, emphasised his client’s struggle with serious drug addiction and his desire to mend the family relationship despite existing difficulties. Savickas has spent the last three months in custody, using the time as an opportunity to contemplate his actions.

This case serves to underline the continual challenges that families face when one or more of its member is suffering from drug addiction. It also underscores the crucial role that community support plays in preventing such unpleasant incidents.
