Shad Ahmadi, a 29-year-old driver from Kirkstall, Peterborough, has been banned from driving following a near miss with a cyclist in Spalding, reports indicate. The Lincolnshire Police relay that Ahmadi was found exceeding the speed limit, ignoring two red lights and a no entry sign, and narrowly avoided a collision with a cyclist and a lamp post on the night of May 28. Ahmadi subsequently pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, operating a vehicle without a valid licence, driving without insurance and failure to stop. Boston Magistrates’ Court handed Ahmadi a six-month prison sentence, which was suspended for a period of two years, in addition to a three-year driving ban.
