Lincoln Woman Calls for Better Parcel Delivery Practices After Theft

Krystal Selmi, from Lincoln, says the package was left by the courier in full view of the street.

Lincoln Woman Calls for Better Parcel Delivery Practices After Theft

Krystal Selmi, a resident of Lincoln, has urged parcel delivery companies to adopt more careful practices after a parcel for her daughter’s birthday was stolen from her front door. The package was delivered by the courier service Evri and left in an easily visible spot from the street, where it was subsequently taken.

Selmi expressed her disappointment towards the courier’s careless actions. ‘They don’t care. The parcel isn’t theirs, after all,’ she commented. In response, Evri has apologised for their subpar service and have provided a goodwill gesture, admitting that they failed to meet the expected standards.

Visual evidence of the theft was captured by Selmi’s doorbell camera, underscoring the need for improved, secure delivery methods. She expressed her sadness over the loss of the package, which contained shoes for which she had saved for several months and is now unable to replace.

Upon contacting Evri, Selmi was advised to request a refund from Vinted, the online platform where she bought the shoes. This incident nearly repeated itself two weeks later when another package was left in a similarly conspicuous place, strengthening Selmi’s concern about the courier’s methods of delivery.
