Lincolnshire Air Ambulance Charity Expands Fleet with New Helicopter

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance (LNAA) is poised to augment its life-saving services with the procurement of a second helicopter. This £7 million investment is set to revolutionise emergency response across the region. The charity has secured a spot on the production line for a twin-engine AW109 GrandNew, a top-notch helicopter with a speed of 177mph. It is anticipated to be operational by autumn 2027.

According to Karen Jobling, LNAA CEO, the added helicopter will bolster the service’s reach, significantly amplifying its life-saving impact across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. As the current helicopter undertakes four to five missions a day, this additional resource will be indispensable. Initially stationed in Lincoln, the funding for this helicopter was made possible through the Mission Possible 2 campaign. However, there remains a shortfall of £2.5 million to fully cover the cost.

With the capacity to land in constrained areas and function under diverse conditions, this compact model is the perfect fit to provide thorough coverage of the 3,500 square miles under the purview of LNAA.
