Lincolnshire Residents Celebrated in King’s Honours List

Jason Wilsher-Mills, from Sleaford, described it as a “wonderful honour”.

Lincolnshire Residents Celebrated in King’s Honours List

Lincolnshire is in high spirits as a number of its residents have received awards in the King’s Birthday Honours list. Among those honoured is Jason Wilsher-Mills, an artist based in Sleaford, who has been bestowed an MBE. Wilsher-Mills, wheelchair-bound since 11 due to a central nervous system condition, expressed his joy at this prestigious recognition for his work, especially in light of his latest exhibition in Hull which attracted a remarkable 50,000 visitors.

Paul Boucher, director of the Lincolnshire Traveller Initiative, has been recognised for his outstanding services to the traveller community within the county, resulting in an OBE award. Within the educational sector, Eleanor Hutton, manager of Grimsby’s Explorosity Education pre-school centre, has been granted an MBE for her immense contributions to early childhood education.

Furthermore, Helen Keneally of Scunthorpe has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for her key role as a children’s centre manager, where she fervently involves families in community activities, such as picnics and summer barbeques.

These exceptional recognitions spotlight the diverse and meaningful contributions made by Lincolnshire residents across a range of sectors, and they undeniably heighten the pride of the county.
