Norfolk Man Sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court for Child Sex Offences

Daniel Brundell, from Norfolk, is sentenced after admitting carrying out the offences in Spalding.

Daniel Brundell, a resident of Upwell, Norfolk, has been issued a nine-year custodial sentence following his confession to a number of sexual offences against a child. The offences involved in this case were incitement of a girl to participate in sexual activity and an instance of sexual assault. The 60-year-old offender was prepared to stand trial at Lincoln Crown Court, where the charges were presented. The offences took place from 2016 to 2018, beginning when the girl was below the legal age of consent. The case prosecutor, Caroline Bradley, stressed the grooming aspect of Brundell’s deeds, which caused both physical and psychological damage to the victim. As announced by the victim herself, the abuse has resulted in continuing severe anxiety. Highlighting the sustained trauma experienced by the victim, Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight passed the sentence on Brundell. Additionally, Brundell received a sexual harm prevention order and a mandate to register indefinitely as a sex offender.
