Norwich Woman Faces Long Jail Term Over Lincolnshire Crash Deaths

A Norwich woman has been warned to anticipate a significant prison term after she admitted to causing the deaths of two teenagers due to dangerous driving in Lincolnshire. The unfortunate event took place on the A17 at North Rauceby on 20 June of the previous year, resulting in the deaths of William Ray, 17, and Eddie Shore, 18. Another two passengers were injured in the incident. 35-year-old Natasha Allarakhia of Turner Crescent, Norwich, broke down as she entered a guilty plea at Lincoln Crown Court. She also admitted to inflicting serious injury on a passenger through dangerous driving, and has been released on bail until her sentencing on 18 August.

David Eager, the prosecuting counsel, requested a delay in sentencing in order to compile victim impact statements from relatives and close acquaintances of the deceased teenagers. “There are individuals who wish to voice their grief for these two young men and how their loss has impacted them,” Mr Eager outlined. Edward Renvoize, who is defending Allarakhia, concurred with the likelihood of a substantial prison term but beseeched an extension of bail until the date of sentencing, citing the involvement of children.

In the aftermath of their untimely deaths, many heartfelt tributes were paid to the two teenagers, including from Carre’s Grammar School in Sleaford, where they had been students. Nick Law, the headteacher, spoke warmly of the two teenagers. Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight, who granted the adjournment, emphasised the grave nature of the crimes, commenting, “There must be a significant sentence. You have pleaded guilty to three serious charges stemming from a single incident. You are aware of the likely result.” Allarakhia was placed under an interim driving prohibition.
