A resident of Skegness, Kane O’Donnell, 21, was handed a two-year and three-month prison sentence at Lincoln Crown Court on 20 June for continued violent crimes against a woman. O’Donnell of Beresford Avenue accepted his guilt on charges that included intentional strangulation, assault by beating, and involvement in controlling and coercive behaviour. The offences transpired between January and March.
The involved woman voiced hope that these criminal convictions could embolden other silent sufferers to break their silence. She underscored the challenges encountered by abuse victims when confronting their ordeal – apprehensions range from fear of not being believed to worries of inadequate protection.
