Bishop Grosseteste University Celebrates Top UK Teaching Ranking

Lincoln-based Bishop Grosseteste University is marking a significant achievement after it was voted the best university in the UK for teaching according to the 2025 National Student Survey. The educational institution, catering to over 2,000 students, also emerged first in learning opportunities and evaluative feedback. Vice-chancellor, Professor Andrew Gower, cited this achievement as indicative of the committed endeavours of the staff and unique, personalised educational journey offered to its students.

International Admissions Officer, Heather Cliffe, pointed out the benefits of the university’s more intimate campus, establishing that it nurtures a welcoming environment where everyone is recognised and acknowledged. She voiced her belief that smaller campuses accommodate student growth by creating spaces where students can express themselves authentically without the overwhelm of large crowds.

Founded in 1862 as an Anglican women’s teacher training facility, Bishop Grosseteste University is preparing for a renaming to Lincoln Bishop University this September. Part of the institution’s winning streak includes securing the second position in the nation for learning resources, thus demonstrating the university’s commitment to delivering a well-rounded educational experience.

Ms Cliffe addressed common misconceptions concerning smaller learning institutions, asserting that they provide powerful opportunities for individual growth and negating the idea that ‘small’ necessarily equals ‘less’.

This esteemed acknowledgment is a milestone for Lincoln, underscoring the superb educational openings accessible within our local community.
