Man Sentenced for Smuggling Incident at Port of Killingholme

Investigators found the Albanian nationals concealed in the bunk area of the driver’s cab.

A 37-year-old Polish man, Dawid Flis, has been handed a four-year prison sentence for the act of smuggling both a woman and her young child into the UK. This event transpired upon Flis’s arrival from the Hook of Holland to the Port of Killingholme, located in North Lincolnshire. The woman connected to this case disclosed to investigators her agreement to the payment of €25,000 (£21,630), of which €12,500 (£10,810) had already been paid, to facilitate the illegal crossing. Following the end of his incarceration, Flis will be subjected to deportation as decided by the Grimsby Crown Court.
